Congratulations President Obama

Election is over and Mr. Barak Obama has been elected for another term. Now that the campaign is behind him and this is the last political campaign of his life and there is no more concern about being re-elected, Mr. Obama must honor some of promises that he made during his first campaign for the office.

He had promised to close Guantanamo within twelve month which he has not done so. He promised to reform the financial market which he has yet to address in an effective manner. He promised to bring peace and in fact right after his inauguration he was awarded with the Noble Peace Prize as the Noble Committee believed that he would indeed be a president for peace. Although the war in Iraq is over and most of the troops are back to their basis throughout the world, the war in Afghanistan is still going strong. Granted, Mr. Obama is planning to end the war and pull out most of the troops by end of 2014, but that is not good enough and he should expedite the withdrawal. He is getting too involved in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. He has also made serious gesture about having military operation in Iran, should Iranian government fail to stop enrichment of Uranium. These resources are much needed at home rather than being wasted abroad.

The immigration issue is not resolved and in fact Mr. Obama has deported more illegal immigrants in four years than all of the deportation done during Mr. Bush’s eight years in the office. Granting temporary amnesty to the children of illegal immigrants is a good start, but need much more to be done.

The war on poverty has not even started; more people are on food stamps now than four years ago. Mr. President is not being blamed here, but the fact remains that under his watch more people need government assistance. He needs to seriously and drastically attack this issue.

Wall Street was very instrumental in election of Mr. Obama in 2008, on the same token, Wall Street was super instrumental in bringing down the economy, but Mr. Obama has not taken any meaningful action to address this issue and bring those executives who so recklessly gambled with people’s money and public trust to any kind of justice.

Mr. Obama not only has curtailed or abandoned the Bush’s administration of eavesdropping on the American public, but has expanded and furthermore, has expeditiously used the use of drones to assassinate the so called enemies of the state. Mr. Obama has gone even further by unilaterally ordering the assignation of American citizens abroad without any due process of law as is mandated by the Constitution. It is ironic that the man who was Constitutional Professor at the law school in Chicago has so blatantly violated the constitution by assignation of American citizens abroad.

The Sandy super storm is estimated to cost over $33 billion dollars, while the war in Afghanistan is costing over $1billion a month. In just few hours, the US lost over 135 lives and $33 billion in damages.

In order for Mr. Obama leaves an indelible legacy behind, he must bring not only peace to the U.S., but throughout the world, stop use of drones which have killed so many innocent people, reform the Wall Street so never again the fiascos of first decade of 2000 could be repeated. Stop any spying activities on US citizens within the US. He needs to truly reform the health care so Medicare for all from birth to death, reform immigration laws so the nearly 12 million undocumented foreigners could settle legally in this country and become much more productive members of the society as they are now. Spend much more resources on education, science, infrastructure, and health. United States has fallen behind in quality education and in particular in math and science which results in loss of competitiveness and economic loss. Roads, bridges, parks and other infrastructures are in dire need of repairs and modernization. Environmental issues are becoming much more concerns given the recent super storm and others that will follow. Everyone talks about national security and spending billions on defense, while in reality the national security of this nation is threatened by the global climate change which are hurting the economy and killing the population. The Sandy super storm is estimated to cost over $33 billion dollars, while the war in Afghanistan is costing over $1billion a month. In just few hours, the US lost over 135 lives and $33 billion in damages. This did not happen because of any foreign government or groups’ action, it was due to the climate change. Much more resources needed to be utilized to effectively address the global climate change. We need to act fast before it becomes too late and much more costly.

All activities mentioned above will result in higher employment, improved economy and more prosperity which is the goal of each and every president in the office. Mr. President Obama congratulations on your victory, wishing you much success and now start implementing the right policies.
