Again we have to witness the death innocent people at the hand of gunman. This time most of the fallen are children of 14 years of age.
No one is safe anymore, not even in the schools, where the parents send their children believing that their kids are in a safe environment and learning so to become educated and successful. Unfortunately, that has become more of a fallacy.
Every year around 30,000 people are killed in the USA due to gun violence. That equivalents to eleven 9/11 events of 2001. After the tragedy of 9/11, USA invaded two countries causing tens of thousands of death of innocent people as well as destruction of two countries, Afghanistan and Iraq, not to mention death of thousands of American Soldiers and maiming of tens of thousands of others who will need medical help for the rest of their lives as well as creating a massive national debt that cannot be repaid during our or our children’s life time. But yet US does not do anything about the 30,000 death in the country which happens every year. This does not include thousands of others who are injured, but do die and need medical treatment for years.
Recently, the Trump Administration very quietly, repeal the Obama’s rule banning mentally disturbed individuals being able to buy gun. Now, thanks to President Trump any mentally disturbed individual could to any gun store and buy a gun. Nice move, Mr. President who kept saying that he would restore Law and Order once he become President.
Praying and feeling sad for those who have fallen is not enough and is shallow act. The politicians must clear their conscious and stop listening to the NRA and follow their heart and the duty that they accepted to perform once they were elected to the office. The most important element of their duties is to protect the public from harm. The harm is internal and not external. No one is attacking United States, we are being attacked internally and within. It is Americans killing Americans. The young kid that killed 17 people and injuring another 14 or so was born and raised in the US by a US family. He belonged to right-wing group and had tendency to commit violence. He was not foreigner who came to the US and became naturalized.
All mass shootings in the USA are committed by the Americans who were born and raised in the USA. All being armed to the teeth. There is no reason whatsoever, for a 19 old guy having such a sophisticated, and battlefield gun with which he was able to cause so much death and destruction.
Floridians are morning again, all because someone was able to buy gun and do whatever he wanted to do. This is only happening in this country, ironically, the most democratic and free country on earth is becoming the most fearful place to live. No one seems to be safe, not in the movie theaters, concerts, schools, streets, or any other places where public gathers. This is not the way to live.
The Federal government must pass severe and harsh laws to ban guns, period. The right to live freely by far outweigh the right of a few to have guns.
If some few insist to have gun, then let’s pass a law that they can have as many guns as they want so long as they keep it in the gun clubs and only do their shooting at the gun club. By doing so, no guns will be in the public and those with the gun are under control of have their guns stored at a safe and monitored place.
There is not doubt that the blood of those who have fallen at the Parkland School in Florida is on the hands of those who could do something about gun control and failed to do so. How many more innocent people are supposed to die before anything could be done to curb the gun ownership and the subsequent violence and tragedies that are followed?
