The Coronavirus threat started in early January when in China people started getting sick. As it started travelling to the neighbouring countries, then to another region such as Europe, the Trump administration was put on notice. For many weeks President Trump did not take the matter seriously at all. In his press conferences, he used to take the matter very lightly and making comments such as it will soon go over or only a few may get this virus. The President who has always bragged to be more intelligent than anyone else sat on his hand and did nothing.
Thousands started dying in Italy and other European countries, President Trump still did not take it seriously. He minimized the impact on the USA and said that perhaps a few will get the virus and soon it would be treated and no need to panic. Then the virus came to the USA and started spreading all over. The first major hit was the state of New York with thousands being infected. Governor Cuomo started literally begging for help by asking for ventilators, masks and other health-related items. Yet President Trump did NOTHING.
President Trump finally started to tackle the problem, by assigning his most qualified and jack of all trade son-in-law, Mr. Jared Kushner, to oversee the management of this crisis. Given Mr. Kushner vast experience in health management, he screwed up big time, as he has done in his other tasks, such as Peace in the Middle East, Government reform/Opioid crisis management, Criminal justice reform, Liaison to Mexico, Liaison to China, and Liaison to the Muslim community. President Trump then appointed another super fantastic and highly qualified individual to oversee the overall activities and management of the Coronavirus crisis, Mr. Vice President Mike Pence. We all remember how effective Mr. Pence was when he was the governor of Indiana during the HIV Crisis. Due to his highly effective management, under his watch, many innocent people die of aids, as Mr. Pence refused to authorize a needle-exchange program in order to prevent spreading HIV among the drug addicts. As a result, many people got infected and lost their lives needlessly.
President Trump has been holding almost daily press conference day and rather than truly do his job as the President of the United States and saving peoples’ lives, he uses these press conferences for his political campaign by attacking the Democrats and anyone that is against him or he does not like. He then makes some of the most outrageous lies, like the USA is handling this health crisis superbly by him getting ahead of the crisis and tackling it right from the start. He keeps applauding himself and giving himself a 10 out 10 for the way he has been handling this crisis.
During one of his press conferences, President Trump stated that he knew that Coronavirus was going to be a Pandemic while in another press conference he claimed that no one knew how bad Coronavirus was going to be. Trump has made so many contradictory statements and provable LIES that one can easily write a book about it.
As the direct and proximate result of President Trump lack of action thousands of Americans have needlessly got infected and died of the coronavirus which constitutes criminal negligence. All states are searching hard for health equipment and supplies, and they are over-bidding each other and adding insult to injury the FEMA is also overbidding in procuring the badly needed equipment and supplies.
Then there are some state governors, mainly Republicans who have refused or took their sweet time to come around and take the Coronavirus seriously. Governor Ronald Dion DeSantis of Florida until a few days ago had refused to issue statewide order for social distancing and closing the beaches in Florida during the Spring break. On April 2, 2020, Governor Brian Kemp of the state of Georgia, who just last week during a press conference made the most outrageous and idiotic statement that he wasn’t aware that asymptomatic people could transmit coronavirus as he announced he was preparing to issue a state-wide shelter-in-place order.
Further, all news media who broadcast Mr. Trump’s lies and knowing these are lies and do not challenge him or inform their viewers, listeners, or readers of the truth, and causing the viewer, listener, or reader act upon those lies and jeopardize their lives as well as the lives of their loved ones, must be held accountable and subject to legal action. The News Media must understand that their number one task is to inform the public of the true facts, not fake news or lies. The first news media that needs to be taken legal action against is the Fox Network which is the mouthpiece for President Trump and attacks anyone who makes any statements to criticize the President.
These are NOT normal times. There is a pandemic with no cure in sight and tens of thousands of people throughout the world have died and in the United States of America over 420,000 people have been infected and almost 15,000 people of having died. The real number of infected people, as well as those who died, are much higher than the official numbers. That is because there are not enough test kits or health staffing to conduct the test of the people of being suspect of being infected nor finding the cause of death for those who have died. That is true in other countries too.
America, regardless of your political affiliation, you must stand up and demand to hold the political leaders who have caused the spread of infection and increase in death toll fully accountable. If you do not do it now, then when. Coronavirus does not recognize any political party and attacks anyone that could be infected with this deadly virus.
