Although Mr. Zuma carries many controversies due to his life style, but now that he is elected by the South African Parliament as the new president of South Africa, he must act most responsibly. Mr. Zuma it is hoped that you deliver what the previous administrations failed to do, that is to make the life for millions of South Africans. Years after years the previous presidents starting with Nelson Mandela have promised to make the life for millions of poor people better and do away with shanty homes. To this date, still many people live in temporary houses made of cardboard and live without electricity, or running water.
It is true that overall the life has improved for South Africans, in particular for the black South Africans. But most of the improvements have been social and political. As far as economic improvements are concerned, not to the extent that one would hope.
Also Mr. Zuma may finally achieve what has been expected of South Africa for many years, which is to take the lead in resolving many of Africa’s political problems such as Zimbabwe, Sudan, and problems in other countries.
South Africa along with Nigeria being two of the largest and powerful countries in Africa must play an important role. They must promote peace, freedom, economic growth among the African countries. In fact many countries in Africa including some in the Western countries are looking up to South Africa to play its role and providing solutions to regional problem.
Mr. Zuma, as the president of South Africa, has the task of promoting political, social, economic growth and prosperities in African continent.
President Zuma, wishing you all the bests.
