We are going through hard times, in fact the entire world is going experiencing what Americans are feeling here at home. People are losing their jobs and their homes. In some cases both income earner of the family have lost their jobs and the chances of finding new jobs are very slim, if non-existence.
Luckily millions of Americans are still employed and being able to provide for their families, although many of them have in the back of their minds the fear of losing their jobs. Also the fact that each family has lost most of its investments which are in the forms of 401K, pension plans, etc. does not help and in particular when adding the lost of home equities as well as dramatic loss of home values, the fear becomes too real to ignore.
There is no doubt that America as well as the rest of the world will pull out of this recession, but the big questions are when and at what price?
History has taught us that in time of crisis, people come together to console and support each other as well as giving helping hand to one another and this mutual cooperation allowed the people to get through the hard times, whether it is because of war, natural disaster or economic hardships.
Well, the time has come again for us to stick together, support each other and offer helping hands to one another. The Federal government, and President Obama’s administration are doing what they can, whether their approach is right or wrong is not the issue in this article, but the fact that steps are being taken count. We, the people must do our part. Given the fact that most Americans are financially hurting, we need to be more generous to each other. For example do more business with one another, give more discounts if possible, without going out of business, the lower prices allow more people to buy each other’s goods and services. Expect to make less money, but more often which again spreads the wealth and allow more people to be engaged in economic activities.

Although saving is a good move and each family must save so to secure its financial future, but in times of recession, spending is encouraged. Many businesses throughout the country are offering huge discounts and have real sales, it is time to buy and take advantage of these sharp discounts. The advantage is not only for the consumers saving substantially due to these discounts, but also helping to keep the stores in business and maintain their employees. We need to remember that every time a business goes under and lays off its employees, the unemployment goes up and more people will be added to the unemployment benefits recipients list. That means more of taxpayers money will go to support the unemployed individual. The unemployed person, will reduce its spending habits, as has no money to spend, which in turn means more businesses will lose their business and have to either layoff or close shops which will worsen the situation. This is a vicious circle that will keep going on and on until it is stopped. We, the people could help to either stop or slow down this wheel.
Helping the charitable organizations if their main operations are to provide help to the needy communities, is another way of being helpful and fighting the economic war. A little here and there, will go a long way.
Rich or poor we are all in it together, so let’s do our part.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
