Goodbye 2019. Hello 2020

Another year ends and a new one starts, but with a big difference. The year 2020 is the start of a new decade and also the election in the USA.

The Year of 2019 was a turbulent year. It was filled with tragedies, natural disasters, and political turmoil. The tragedies were the killing of innocent people throughout the United States by fanatics and fascist individuals as well as some psychotic individuals. Overall 69 people were killed in a series of mass shootings. These are some of the killings:

1. El Paso, Texas where 22 people were killed and 24 others injured.
2. Gilroy, California leaving 3 people dead and 15 wounded.
3. West Texas leaving 7 people dead.
4. Sebring, Florida leafing 5 people dead
5. Abbeville, South Carolina, where 3 dead and 1 wounded.
6. Aurora, Illinois which ended up with 5 people dead and 6 wounded.
7. Virginia Beach, Virginia with 12 people dead and 4 wounded.
8. State College, Pennsylvania with 3 dead and 1 wounded.
9. The killing in Dayton, Ohio where 9 people were killed and 14 were wounded.
10. The killing in Odessa, Texas where 7 were dead and 21 wounded.

Of course, there were killings all over the globe, some through terrorism and some by fanatics and warp minded individuals and some through wars and skirmishes among the troops and oppositions

Then we witnessed natural disasters such as; the mass fire in California destroying so many homes and other structure as well as the death of few people. The mass fires in New Zeal and now in Australia which is still going strong and so far has destroyed over One Million Acres. Fortunately, the death toll in Australia fire has been only two and let’s hope it stays that way.

The Hurricanes in the United States as well as other parts of the World, the volcano eruption in Hawaii, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Italy, and New Guinea which unfortunately there were some casualties and number of people dead or missing. The most horrific events were natural disasters, not because many people were dead, but because it is now, and will be the most serious and most dangerous threats to human beings and other creatures living on this planet.

Although there have been many signs for a couple of decades and the scientist all over the world unanimously have declared that the climate change is real and will destroy lives as we know it, but the leaders of the world have not done much to save the people and the planet from human’s destructive behavior.

Then we witnessed the political turmoil in the United States which ended up with having President Donald Trump impeached who is now the third president in the history of the United States being impeached.

The other political turmoil in the United States was the finding of Special Counsel Mueller, who did not have enough courage to declare that the President committed crimes and left it open for people to decide any which way they wish, what a waste of time and money!!!

The outing of the President Trump’s extortion against the newly elected President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to find dirt on Joe Biden and his son, so he could release the military aid that was approved by the Congress for Ukraine so to fight the Russian’s invasion on her border, became the most important political concerns.

The election of Boris Johnson, the copycat of Donald Trump in the United Kingdom as the Prime Minister was somewhat of a shock and his insistence to finalize Britain’s exit from the European Union was another political turmoil with global impact.

What the British people did not realize was the fact that the United Kingdom will soon be no more United Kingdom, as Scotland and Northern Ireland would soon start the cessation from Great Britain as they wish to be part of the European Union. Further, the election of Boris Johnson is not what the Scots and Irish people are happy about.

In 2020, there are two major political events taking place as of now, one is the possible trial of President Trump by the Senate (Removal Process) which of course it is expected to be a defeat for the opponents of Trump as the Republican Senators have unanimously sided with the President and have abandoned their oath to the constitution and their loyalty to the country and the people.

The next big political event is the election of the President in the United States. There 7 Democratic candidates as of now running against President Trump and two Republican candidates running against Trump. Right now it is very difficult to come up with a good guess as who would win the White House. From history, one could not rely on the polls. So we have to wait until November 4, 2020, to find out who will win the White House.

Let’s hope that Year 2020 starts and ends well and start of a new decade brings much joy and happiness throughout the globe and let the wise and true leaders guide this year and the new decade in the right direction and take immediate action to save our planet Earth.
